What this covers

This policy explains how we handle information when you use Roll Dice. We collect information you provide, information generated when you use the service, and information from services you choose to connect.

Information used by this app

Dice expressions and roll requests are processed to generate results. This app does not require a player account. Avoid putting personal information into dice expressions.

Technical information and support

When you visit a hosted website, the server and hosting providers receive your IP address, request details, browser information and timestamps. Operational logs may include identifiers and error details. We use this information to deliver responses, investigate failures and prevent abuse. If you contact us, we receive your message and contact details. Please avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information.

Why we use information

We use information to provide the features you request, maintain security, answer support requests and meet legal obligations. Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of our agreement for requested services, legitimate interests for proportionate security and troubleshooting, legal obligations for required records, and consent for optional browser analytics. You can withdraw analytics consent without losing access to the service.

Providers and sharing

Optional analytics uses PostHog’s EU endpoint. Hosting and database providers process information needed to run the hosted service. We may also disclose information where legally required, to protect rights and security, or in a business transfer subject to appropriate protections. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

Storage and retention

Saved application records remain while needed for the service or until removed. There is no general automatic expiry for saved account, study, pupil or analysis records. Support correspondence and operational records are kept while needed to resolve enquiries, maintain security or meet legal obligations. Deleting browser storage does not delete records held on the server. Contact us to request deletion; records required by law or to resolve a dispute may need to be retained, and backup copies may remain until rotated out.

International processing

The service and its providers may process information outside your country, including outside the UK or EEA. Data protection rules may differ. Contact us for information about the locations and transfer safeguards applicable to your use of the service.

Your choices and rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy of your personal information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. We may need to verify your identity. You can withdraw consent prospectively at any time. You may complain to your local data protection authority, including the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). Exercising your rights will not result in discriminatory treatment.

Children and learning

The service is not intended to solicit personal information from children. A parent or guardian should manage accounts or purchases for anyone unable to agree to the terms themselves. Contact us if a child has supplied information that should be removed.

Security and changes

We use access controls and other measures to protect information, but no online service is completely secure. We update this policy when our practices change, publish the new date here and provide additional notice where required.
